Who is a Nurse educator
Nurse educators are registered nurses with advanced education who are also teachers. Most work as nurses for a period of time before dedicating their careers to educating future nurses. What is Forensic Nursing?
Forensic nursing is a new specialty within the nursing field that allows patient care and the medico-legal system intersect. Forensic nurses have an integral area of practice. Attendance
Students will be required to complete seventy-five percent attendance in theory counselling to become eligible for appearing in Term-end Examination. Similarly, they will be required to complete ninety percent attendance in practical contact sessions to become eligible for appearing in practical examination.
Assignments
The assignments will cover all types of questions (long answer type, short answer type, objective type, multiple choice questions and case studies). The assignments will carry thirty percent weightage. Students will be required to obtain fifty percent marks as pass percentage in each assignment separately. Each assignment will carry 100 marks. In the final result assignments will carry thirty percent weightage.
Term-end Examination
Term-end examination is the major component of the evaluation system and if carries seventy percent weightage in the Final result. The University conducts term-end examination twice a year i.e., in June and December. They can take the examination only after completion of the course, failing which students can take the same in December or June of subsequent years years within the total span of the programme. In case any student fail to get a pass score in the Term-end Examination, the person will be eligible to reappear at the next Term-end Examination for that course as and when if is held, within the total span of the Programme.

Indian Nursing Council Equivalency procedure to study and practice nursing in India
India is receiving students from different countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh,Tibet etc for undertaking their nursing courses like BSC and GNM nursing in India. Like wise many of the Indian students are going abroad to do their graduate or post graduate degree in nursing in countries like Australia, U.K, Canada etc. In both these cases the candidates needs to get an equivalency certificate either to study or work in India.
Equivalency for Indian Nationals
- Indian Nationals who are registered Nurse and Midwife in India and has acquired foreign degree shall obtain Equivalency from Indian Nursing Council, before registering their additional qualification in the respective State Nursing and Midwifery Registration Council.
- Indian nationals who after their senior secondary (10+2) have obtained their basic and higher nursing qualification outside India shall submit detailed copies of credentials, transcript issued by University in English language where they obtained their qualification to Indian Nursing Council, along with application stating purpose of equivalency.
- These nurses can only be registered in any SNRC ( state nursing registration council) in India after getting equivalency from Indian Nursing council.
- For admission to GNM & B.Sc. (N) the entry qualification equivalency i.e., 12th standard will be obtained by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Institution, State Nursing Council & University will be responsible to ensure that the qualification and eligibility will be equivalent to what has been prescribed by Indian Nursing Council.
- All the relevant record of such students shall be maintained in the institution, University/Board and also in State Nursing Council. Principal of the Institution is responsible to follow the guidelines before admission otherwise, Principal will be held responsible.
Indian citizens possessing foreign nursing qualification are examined individually. Other than that they will check the syllabi and get a conformation from concerned foreign authorities. Nurses are granted approval for registration in India with the recommendation of equivalence committee. The foreign National possessing foreign qualification can also work in charitable institutions for a limited period with the approval of President of INC. Their transfer are evaluated/examined by the equivalence Committee Members and if they are found at par, temporary permission is granted for employment in Charitable Institutions.
Procedure for obtaining equivalency from Indian nursing Council ( INC )
The procedure involved for equivalency of foreign nursing qualification is as follows
- A transcript copy has to be filled by the concerned University/Board from where the candidate has qualified his/her training.
- After receiving the transcript it is placed before the Equivalency Committee.
- The decision of the Equivalency Committee is communicated to the candidate.
- A Demand Draft of 1000/- in favour of Secretary, Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi towards equivalence fee is required to be submitted by the candidate.
- It is important that the transcript copy should clearly indicate that one credit of theory and one credit of Practical is equal to how many hours.Procedure for obtaining equivalency from Indian nursing Council ( INC )
The duly filled transcript copy will be placed before the equivalency committee meeting, the recommendation with regard to equivalency status there after will be informed to the concerned candidates.
Equivalency for admitting Foreign Nationals in Nursing Course
- Foreign nationals (including Nepali, Bangladeshi, Bhutani and Tibetan Refugee) having valid certificate of Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife in their own Country as on date of admission; they can be admitted for higher nursing education in India. However, they will not be registered to practice in India. Even no temporary registration will be provided to them during their study period or upon completion under any circumstances, what so ever.
- Foreign nationals (including Nepali, Bangladeshi, Bhutan and Tibetan Refugee) having certificate of Registered Nurse only in their own Country, can be admitted to P.B.B.Sc.(N) programme & M.Sc. (N) except for OBG specialty.
- For admission to GNM & B.Sc. (N) the entry qualification equivalency i.e., 12th standard will be obtained by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Institution, State Nursing Council & University will be responsible to ensure that the qualification and eligibility will be equivalent to what has been prescribed by Indian Nursing Council.
- The responsibility of obtaining requisite documents lies with the institution/University/Council. Any irregularity in admission procedure coming to the notice will be replied by the Institution/University/Council.

From the site, select the Health Regulation Service menu where you will find the the option “New Professional License.” This will pop up as a separate window which will walk you through your application, each step requires documents to be uploaded as clearly instructed. Name all documents instead of numbering. Remember to update each page as you move on, unsaved documents cannot be retrieved when you log on for the next time.

Once you finish up dating the documents, it will prompt you to a menu where you need to provide details of payment. Here you have to do your initial payment of AED 210/- through a credit card ( Local credit card ). I have added a screen shot here for you.
4. Document Verification
DHA will verify the documents submitted for its truthfulness. It may take few days to 6 weeks to get a feed back from DHA officials. If not follow it up by sending an email to Regulation@dha.gov.ae. After Initial verification DHA staff will intimate you about the corrections to be done, like uploading missing document or uploading additional documents etc. You can correct the mistakes you have done and submit it again for approval.
5. Primary Source Verification

The payment for primary source verification is AED 700/- . If you wish to postpone your payment, you can do so , but at most 3 months only . If everything goes fine, you will get an eligibility number to sit for the exam.

Go to link to schedule your exam, here you need to provide your Eligibility Number. Fee to schedule the exam is 170 USD, can be paid through an international credit card. Exam is computer based and it is a multiple choice assessment. You have 2 hours to answer 70 questions.

You will get the result in two days through mail. If you pass the exam, you will receive an eligibility letter which you can attach to your CV while you apply for a job in Dubai.
