Geriatric healthcare that addresses the complex needs of old people is a neglected field in medicine. Now, the health and family welfare department plans to start geriatric centres in India. Healthcare of ageing patients is often provided by a team of multiple specialists. The members may include geriatrician, geriatric nurse, primary care clinician and other sub-role nurses.
